SUPERVISION:
-----------------------------------

Flourish Therapy & Consulting provides professional supervision services to qualified Social Workers, Social Work students, human service workers, psychologists and other helping professionals.

Supervision can focus on a range of areas including:

  • Continuing professional development (including accrual of CPD hours for AASW and other professional body memberships)
  • Development, refinement and practice of Social Work specific knowledge, skills, values and theories
  • Client case discussions to support improved or refined practice
  • Client case planning to support best-practice and positive client outcomes
  • Debriefing after a stressful or traumatic work or personal event which impacts on professional practice
  • Development and practice of new skills, knowledge or theoretical frameworks for practice
  • Support to manage ethical challenges in practice
  • Initial or continued development of your framework for practice
  • Applying to be an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Supporting individual wellbeing

Supervision can be undertaken at my office, your workplace or in any location in the community in which you're most comfortable (this includes places such as cafe's, parks or the beach). Supervision is also available online via video.

Supervision can be undertaken for individuals or groups. Session length is flexible and can be tailored to your individual needs. As a guide, individual supervision is typically booked for 1 hour; group supervision session lengths will vary depending on the number of participants.

The initial session focuses on getting to know each other, determining your goals and expectations and developing a plan moving forward. Ultimately, you need to find the right 'fit' with a supervisor, as this initial session allows you to see whether I am the right 'fit' for you and your professional needs.

Please contact us on 0435 455 131 for up-to-date fees and to discuss booking your first supervision session. A reduced fee is available to students currently undertaking their Social Work degree and for their first year of qualified practice.

Field Placements for Social Work Students:

Flourish Therapy & Consulting has a working relationship with the field placement team at Griffith University and has accepted Social Work students on field placements in the past. Field placements will be considered for students with an interest in mental health and private practice, who have achieved strong results in their studies and who demonstrate exceptional capacity for autonomous work. Placements vary depending on the current demands of Flourish Therapy & Consulting and may include clinical and/or research components. A clinical placement cannot always be guaranteed. Research activities are generally in the fields of children and families.

If you are interested in a field placement with Flourish Therapy & Consulting, please speak to your field placement team.

Unfortunately, field placements cannot be accommodated for students in other disciplines due to supervision and insurance requirements.
